Paderborn (Germany), 17 April 2012: There is a clearly economic, political and social pressure to use energy more efficiently and telecoms have a role to play. If Utility companies want to move from monthly or quarterly billing to a system that measures and charges by the hour or the minute, then telecoms billing companies are a natural supplier of the technology. Orga Systems offers convergence beyond fixed and wireless. Its Dynamic Energy Billing enables dynamic pricing and real-time rating of consumption data to support the growing adoption of Smart Grids and Smart Metering technology. It provides flexible tariff capabilities to improve the efficiency of energy generation, distribution and usage while reducing CO2-Emissions.
Monetization of consumption at all times
By moving the tariffs and rating from a smart meter to a centralized IT system, it is possible to utilize dynamic tariffing and billing on a network-wide basis. The meter provides information and readings on a real-time basis which can be used by the energy company to flexibly monitor consumption at all parts of the network as well as using information to detect theft of energy from pirate connections. The key is the central IT based system, which ensures accurate pricing and prevents fraud by e.g. introducing pre-payment schemes to the customers.
Benefitting from Direct Load Control
The average home wastes 25% of its energy; to continuously decrease energy waste Orga Systems enables the customer to choose different tariffs and sources of energy at different times of the day. Green technology is generated by offering the customer opportunities to use appliances when energy is cheaper. Orga Systems Energy & Billing Platform is able to bill energy usage in line with highly dynamic hourly spot market prices. The dynamic prices are used to trigger a Demand Side Management (DSM) for selected home devices. Given a green energy scenario, the focus would be on the substitution of fossil fuels (gas, oil) for water heating of private households in times when excessive and cheap renewable energy from the electricity grid is available.

Paderborn (Germany), 10 April 2012: Orga Systems, Gold Sponsor of Metering, Billing/CRM Asia 2012, will be showcasing its Dynamic Energy Billing in Bangkok, Thailand. The showcase will demonstrate dynamic pricing and real-time rating of consumption data to support the growing adoption of Smart Grids and Smart Metering technology. It provides dynamic tariff capabilities to improve the efficiency of energy generation, distribution and usage.
The challenge: Finding the right business case
The electricity industry is changing rapidly – forcing utility companies to find new and more intelligent ways of managing their energy supply infrastructure. In the end finding the right business cases is essential to utility companies. Throughout Asia Pacific, utilities are increasingly implementing smart grid initiatives, beginning with the deployment of smart meters. According to Analysts, the total installed base of smart meters in the region will see a compound annual growth rate of 37%, increasing from 52.8 million in 2010 to over 350 million by 2016. The adoption of smart meters is surging and electric utilities are accelerating their deployments of the devices while looking for communication networks and integrated intelligence to enable increased visibility and management of electricity usage.
Dynamically dealing with changes
Orga Systems’ Dynamic Energy Solution brings real-time rating capability and multi dimensional tariff dynamics to smart metering utilities and CIS infrastructures. The solution offers utility companies an unparalleled tariff flexibility that easily copes with managing complex tariffs in real-time. This feature helps energy companies to deal with dynamically changing conditions in a completely new way, adjusting any tariff through measuring and monetizing energy consumption in real-time. Offering new services to customers and bringing real-time customer experience into play are opportunities to unlock new revenue streams.

Paderborn (Germany), 06 March 2012: At this year’s CeBIT, Orga Systems demonstrates its Energy & Service Billing Platform at the Connected Living Hall 26. The system is able to bill energy usage in line with highly dynamic hourly spot market prices and will be shown in a “Wind-to-Home” scenario. The dynamic prices are used to trigger a Demand Side Management (DSM) for selected home devices. The focus is on the substitution of fossil fuels (gas, oil) for water heating of private households in times when excessive and cheap wind energy from the electricity grid is available.
Integrate into the Connected Living IT architecture
Orga Systems is partner of the research initiative “Connected Energy - SHAPE” co-funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). All services are integrated into the Connected Living IT architecture and operate through a Home Service Platform (HSP) and a Service Provider Platform (SPP). The end user saves consumption costs while energy service providers are able to bring additional energy to market. The substitution of fossil fuels reduces CO2-Emissions – a benefit for society and environment.
The following key aspects are:
- User can activate dynamic price control for a device (value added service)
- Energy service provider (aggregator) receives forecasts of storage capacity
- Home automation systems switches the device (e.g. heating rod) according to dynamic energy price
- User is able to prompt consumption and current expenses for the household (Smart Metering) and selected devices (Sub-Metering) enabled for Wind-to-Home tariffs
- User retrieves weekly bills and notifications of threshold in between
- System is extensible for other DSM applications e.g. heat-pumps, electrical vehicles

If 50 galleries invite the audience to the Gallery Weekend from 27.04. - 29.04. 2012 with different art-tours and exhibition openings, the BAGL SPRINGtime 2012 with it´s parallel selection of contemporary art, should not be missed.
Again, forty to fifty international artists will present their artworks exclusively at the BAGL SPRINGtime central in Berlin, very close to the Hackescher Markt, at the Spandauer Straße 2 from 27.04. - 01.05.2012.
The, in the meantime twice a year held, Berlin artists Going Live (BAGL) is established as open artist platform and is very well received by artists and art-lovers. For single artists and artists-groups, the BAGL is a good alternative to an exhibition in one of the numerous galleries in Berlin. The non-profit organized BAGL is based on cost-sharing between all participating artists, in which an attractive venue as well as an effectively event promotion can be financed by pooling resources.
In addition a culture all-round-program will be offered for all senses. For this purpose, the two volunteer organizers Jennifer Spruß and Anja Schneider got something going. Beside the international contemporary art there will be, in good old BAGL-style, daily changing events.
So the young Norwegian indie band “The Morningtons” will specially come to Berlin with new songs for the BAGL-audience.
Art in the dark does not work do you think? At the long art-night each visitor will be equipped with lanterns, light sticks, flashlights etc. and is able to discover forms and colours of the artworks in a totally new way. At this unusual dark-exhibition the singer and songwriter “Laura Dee” and her piano will spoil your ear.
Not only for kids Joe M Kernbach from “con-musica”, restaged “Max & Moritz” as a new non-violent Musical-Story.
You can chill or dance with Clemens Kombinat from “tanz+klangkombinat” in capital-style to some fresh techno- and house sounds. In contrast to this “Bianca Döring” will perform a more classical Arie.
All this is just a small taste of the coming Events. More exciting acts are in preparation. The entire line-up of visual and performing artists and all event dates will be announced soon. Current informations and impressions of past events are always published on the website: www.bagl-artists.de
All participants will be additionally introduced in the accompanying exhibition catalogue. During the exhibition it is also possible to get some further informations about the artists, if they are not able to be present in person, with the also known audio-tour.
Artists and artist-groups still have time to apply to be part of the BAGL SPRINGtime til end of Febuary 2012. Further informations and conditions can be requested under: info@bagl-artists.de
The BAGL SPRINGtime is organized by the “Gemeinnützige EAGL UG” which also organized the EAGL quadriART at the EAGL gallery (Kantstraße 87a, 10627 Berlin). To have a look will worth it, this exhibition will run until 31.03.2012
Originally planned in 2009 as a first-time project, which took place on their own initiative and cost sharing of the participating artists, organized and based exhibition “Berlin Artists Going Live” (BAGL) got a such positive response by the audience, that the original organizing team became in late 2009 the non-profit project „Gemeinnützige European Artists Going Live Unternehmergesellschaft (haftungsbeschränkt)“, short: Gem. EAGL UG, founded as a responisble parent organization. The EAGL UG is recognized as a non-profit company by the tax office for corporations I.
The initial difficulties in (pre-) founding phase and not least temporarily disabled by the apparently functioning German bureaucracy have been mastered,
Workflows have been optimized by relevant databases and networks, time-related organizational processes as well as interim consolidated spreadsheet basics.
The BAGL takes place regulary parallel to the commercial Art-Events in Berlin, the “Gallery Weekend” in spring and the famous Art Fairs in fall. It is targeted to offer unkown or not yet established artists of all kind of art directions a multiplication platform with a maximum of promotion and professional appearance at central venues (2011 and in Fall 2012 at Spandauer Str. 2, very cloes to the Hackeschen Markt) based on cost-sharing, with a main focus on a permanent networking of the artists to promote their awareness even after the exhibitions. In the past “Art Fall” 2011 in Berlin, the the third “BAGL afFAIRs” exhibition took place with a daily changing supporting programm with performing, as the exhibitions before. As now firmly established in the Berlin Art Scene, the BAGL SPRINGtime 2012 starts into the 4th year with 40-50 national and international artists.

Erfolgreicher Eintritt in neue Industrien
Paderborn (Germany), 1 February 2012: Orga Systems continued its revenue growth driven by investments in its products, services and sales coverage. The 2011 annual turnover has grown 30% higher over the past 2 years. The volume of year-end backlog for 2012 has almost tripled as compared to that for 2010. This excellent result is due to 18 months of extensive business transformation with more than 80m subscribers added on its systems. The Advisory Board has reinforced its support for the Management’s plans. The Advisory Board has recommended and the Shareholder has approved the budget for 2012, which is geared towards further expansion.
Orga Systems’ Advisory Board was established in late 2010. It consists of international experts and executives from the telecommunications industry and the financial sector. The Board is focussing on strategic guidance and governance for the company and acts as a sparring partner to the executive team in its pursuit of international expansion and sector leadership.
Business Transformation well under way
Ramez Younan, appointed as CEO in 2010, has implemented significant changes which are reflected in these results. After optimizing business processes and the organisation, he has focused on customer care with a special focus on international expansion, product portfolio, services and partners. Today, Orga Systems supports customers in 27 countries through its 13 locations around the world. Additional centres opened in Buenos Aires, Dubai, Calcutta and Moscow provide local access to growth regions in South America, CIS, Africa and Asia.
“The Board is impressed by the pace and excellent results that the new Management have achieved, so far”, says Dr Wolfgang Hanrieder, Chairman of the Board. “This success should be recognized as very significant as Orga Systems has followed its strategy of profitable growth and achieved these successes in times of increasing price and competitive pressures, as well as a discouraging general economy.”
Successful entry into new business segments
“The telecommunication industry is processing 3 simultaneous challenges; increasing customer experience, dealing with an ever exponential growth of data and machine-to-machine traffic while facing heavy competition from over the top and under the floor players. This is why they are working with agile partners such as Orga Systems to help them with an integrated portfolio of customer experience products, robust high volume billing and charging in real time as well as a lower TCO to enable them to compete and gain time to market advantage. Other industries such as Telematics and Energy customers have also trusted Orga Systems to leverage their experience and deploy its systems efficiently”, says CEO Ramez Younan.
In addition, Orga Systems continues to explore further growth opportunities such as eGovernment, eHealth and eLearning.
For almost two decades, Orga Systems has been a top brand in the area of real-time based charging and billing in telecommunication services. Services for more than 400 million subscribers are currently managed, collected and billed by Orga Systems’ high-performance solutions.
